• The Idea
    • Hosted by the Faculty of Modern Languages, University of Warsaw, the 1st International Humanities – Society – Identity Congress will gather scholars and young researchers who wish to share their knowledge in humanities and present the results of innovative and interdisciplinary research focusing on Humanities – Society – Identity. The Congress embraces the study of all aspects pertaining to these three main notions, including, but not limited to, literature, language, linguistics, culture, social research, migration, minorities, memory studies, and identity.It is the first wide-ranging event planned as a platform for the exchange of knowledge as well as initiating and developing cooperation between research groups.

    • The Faculty of Modern Languages is one of the leading faculties in Poland with members researching literature, culture, linguistics, and history.

      Our academics have expertise in a wide range of research areas focusing, among others, on the issues related to languages and literatures, identity, memory studies, comparative studies, and social trends. The application of the most recent research methods and tools ensures the reliability and high value of their findings, which are disseminated via conferences and academic publications. Our staff enjoy worldwide recognition in their respective fields and cooperate with the most prominent representatives of the world’s academic community.

      • Format
      • The Congress will be held in the form of traditional in-person sessions. The Speed-Dating sessions for young researchers will be organized online on a special platform. The sessions and debates will be streamed on the YouTube channel of the Faculty.

      • Languages
      • The main sessions and debates will be held in English. The language(s) of the sessions coordinated by Research Groups depend individually on their organizers.
